The Maverick Bank Building (1884-1921), named the Swearingen-McCraw Building after 1892 is evident at the SW corner of Houston and Alamo. The Hugo & Schmeltzer building has been razed (1913) and the Alamo Convento (Long Barracks) walls are espaliered.
