Historical Use, Copyright, and Removal Policy
The San Antonio Police History Archive is a privately maintained, noncommercial historical research and preservation project. The purpose of this site is to preserve, organize, study, and make accessible materials related to the history of law enforcement, public safety, municipal government, and social history in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
Materials displayed on this site may include photographs, newspaper clippings, public records, government documents, maps, illustrations, directories, documents, captions, research notes, and other historical items. Some materials are owned by the archive, some are believed to be in the public domain, some may be used with permission, and some may be displayed for purposes of historical preservation, scholarship, research, commentary, criticism, education, or public-interest documentation.
This website is not operated for profit. No advertising revenue, subscription fee, or commercial sale of displayed materials is sought or accepted through this archive. The inclusion of any image, document, or text is not intended to imply ownership by the archive unless specifically stated.
The archive makes a good-faith effort to identify sources, preserve historical context, and avoid misuse of copyrighted material. Because many historical materials have uncertain origins, incomplete source information, or unclear copyright status, some items may be included under a good-faith belief that their use is lawful, including but not limited to fair use, public domain status, permission, government-record status, archival preservation, or historical research purposes.
