The Swearingen-McCraw building (originally known as the Maverick Bank building (1884) with its distinctive balconies sits on the southwest corner of the intersection. The Gibbs building (1909) on the Northwest corner fronts on Avenue D between the Gibbs building and the US Post Office and Customs House (1890). The New Moore Building (1908) can just be seen east and on the same side of the street as the Gibbs Building.
