View is WSW from the US Post Office. Maverick Bank building (1884) purchased by SwearinGEN-McCraw in 1892). Razed in 1920 and replaced by the Woolworth Building (June 1921). Sommer’s Drug Store in building from 1913. Of special interest is the officer, under the umbrella, controlling traffic at the intersection by means of a semaphore extending above the umbrella.
