The photograph showcases the Commerce Street Bridge and the Riverside Building. The bridge is the fourth one at this location. It is a lenticular pony truss bridge built in 1880 by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company of East Berlin, Conn. and replaced by a tee beam bridge in 1915. The Riverside Building, now renamed the Clifford Building was built in 1891 and designed to evoke memories of a river steamboat.
