The San Antonio Police History Archive is under active and ongoing development. As the archive continues to grow, some sections, image links, search tools, and records may change as materials are reviewed, corrected, and expanded. If you are a researcher, historian, academic, hobbyist, family member, retired officer, or anyone with information that could improve the accuracy or depth of this archive, you are invited to join the forum and share your knowledge, documents, photographs, corrections, or historical context.
San Antonio Police History Archive
This website is a collection of photographs, illustrations, maps, diagrams, newspaper articles, government documents, historical essays, and related materials, many of which exist elsewhere in many different places and collections. It is the result of forty years of continuing research and collection activity.
All comments, captions, and essays unless specifically attributed are mine. The purpose and offering of all materials on this site is social-historical research. It is hoped that this project will provide some small positive facilitation to the larger study of the development of municipal law enforcement through the lens of social-history examination of a specific police force older than the nation itself.
While I welcome all serious comments as to my shortcomings in connection with this presentation, please understand that the site represents a continuing project, with new material being added on an almost daily basis, and while there is always time for amelioration there is none for recrimination. There is no advertising or funding of any kind from any source, sought or accepted.
